The WWSC is a research environment at high international level, with strong competence in nanoscale phenomena of wood biopolymers and material systems. The number of publications in higher impact journals is increasing, and young researchers are forming their own research groups. Results from one of the major research areas within WWSC, the nanocellulose field, form the base for industrial production and use of cellulose nanofibrils (CNF).
